End of the Year

Cortney’s awards.  She got her award for 3 years of Chorus dedication.  Her completion of the 8th grade and one other important award called the “Brave Award” this is for the student who shows up the class ready to go and with a good attitude.  Each teacher gets to pick only one student to give this to and it was given to Cortney by her Spanish teacher.  Way to Go!! Cortney!

Prom Night

Tonight was Prom night.  The school brought back the old fashion 8th prom.  We made it special for her.  She had her hair and nails done.  Her hair was done at a place in Calhoun called “Cut -N- Up”.   Click on the picture page to see more pictures from tonight.

Miss Volunteer

Cortney’s been in the volunteering mood lately.  On April 25th she helped out at the taste of Calhoun in the Relay for Life booth.  Then on May 1st she helped at a booth at the Relay for Life walk.  This is the second year she has done the Relay for Life walk.  Uunfortunately at about 8:30 pm it was rained out, but there’s next year.  I’m sure she’ll be there because Cortney has already severalpeople close to her fight cancer and a good friend to died with cancer this year.

VA Trip

Cortney just got back from her trip to VA.   This way Cortney’s first time flying by herself and the first time flying since she was 13 months old.  She was gone for 4 days. She was able to see a lot of people that she hadn’t seen in a while and made 3 new friends.   She had fun and now has a new pen pal (Austin).

  Cortney is turning into a traveler.  This is the second trip she’s been on this year and has already got two more trips planned over the next 3 months.  (I’m going to have to retrain her to stay home)  She’s on the go but she loves it.

Cortney’s 4H Award

This weekend Cortney went to the 4H camp at Rock Eagle. As you can see here she came in 3rd place in the History category. This was out of 18 entries from all over the state. Her project was done on the Civil War battle of Resaca, GA.

Big 3 Day

OK Today was a BIG day for the kids. First they went to the Ringling Brothers circus. When they returned from that, they went to the farm and rode the donkey. To top off the day We had Nicole’s wedding to go to. So they were able to pack all of this in from 8:30am to 7:00pm.
Very Big and busy day. But they had fun.

One more friend called Home

This is Tommy Varner. He was a re-enactor with Cortney and Keith. He was a good man and loved the outdoors. He was always joking and playing around with Cortney and he help look after her on these re-enactments. This was a life cut way to short by a mean oh bad disease called cancer. But God said Tommy it’s time to come home and took him from here to wait on us there. We love him and will miss him dearly. Tommy loved kids and treated Cortney and Gracie and Kaylee as if the were his own.
